Avraham Eilam-Amzallag was born in Morocco and grew up in France and Israel. He is graduate of the Tel-Aviv Academy of Music, where he learned flute with Uri Toeplitz, composition with Leon Schidlowsky and conducting with Gary Bertini and Noam Sheriff. Eilam-Amzallag composed numerous works for various ensembles, from solo works to choral and orchestral pieces. His Rhapsody on Melodies of Moroccan Jews won first prize of the Israel Chamber Orchestra competition. He founded the Mizmor ensemble, as well as the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra, of which he was music director for a decade.
