Born in Latvia, Sarah Feigin (1928-2011) studied piano and composition at the Riga Conservatory of Music. She received her Master of Music degree in 1959. Feigin settled in Israel in 1972, and founded a Conservatory of Music the following year. She was head of the conservatory and taught music and composition for ten years. From 1973 to 1990 she worked for "Jeunesses Musicales d'Israel," organizing concerts for youth with explanations of her own works. Her music has been performed internationally.
